Projects
The Eye to Eye Low Vision Support Group began in 1998 and it has been our goal to provide a supportive and enriching environment for both our members and the broader community; to help educate the visually impaired on how to live independently; and to accomplish daily tasks with dignity.
In 2004, Eye to Eye designed and installed 15 traffic signs throughout the city of Marion, Ohio to draw attention to The White Cane Law in the State of Ohio which provisions that “The driver of every vehicle shall yield the right of way to every blind pedestrian guided by a guide dog, or carrying a cane which is predominantly white or metallic in color, with or without a red tip”.
The CCTV program began in 2002 with the purchase of five new CCTVs obtained through a grant from the Marion Community Foundation. We have since purchased three used CCTVs and have had eight donated to our group from individuals.
